The journey into parenthood brings both immense joy and daunting responsibility. The important decisions made during this phase, especially regarding vaccinations for both parents and their children, are profound. We want to make the right decisions for our children and if necessary to question established orthodoxies without the threat of vilification or undue criticism. The articles on this site, designed to provide essential information specific to Ireland, serves as a transparent resource in this decision-making process.
The websites comprehensive approach, juxtaposing the risks of vaccine side effects with disease risks, empowers parents to make informed choices for their child’s health while also highlighting some compelling concerns.
The continual expansion of the childhood vaccine schedule, without the removal of outdated vaccines also merits scrutiny. The relevance of certain vaccines, like hepatitis B for infants, boostrix vaccine for pregnant women (which contains three vaccines, when only one of them is recommended) and the planned introduction of the chickenpox vaccine in Ireland, prompts consideration of whether it is necessary.
The following table shows the schedule of vaccines recommended by the Health Service Executive (HSE). The linked articles link to the vaccines we have covered so far. You will also find articles on each of the diseases associated with those vaccines on the website.
We will be adding information for the remaining vaccines over the coming weeks and months and encourage you to check back or follow us on social media for updates.
